Hey friends! Happy Wednesday!! I am so happy to say that I am back to blogging! The weekend before last was my volleyball tournament, and I honestly was not too prepared with my blog, then on Wednesday, something big happened so I decided to just take a little break. I did miss it a lot! I know today is Let's Look, but today is going to be a little different.
On February 3, we had to put my sweet pup Maddie to sleep. As you guys might know, Maddie suffered from cancer. We found out in mid-January, and we were told that we only had a couple of weeks left, so we made the best of it. Maddie had a wonderful last couple of days.

I don't want today's post to be sad, so instead, I am going to be sharing some of our favorite memories and photos of Maddie's life.

Maddie was such a great cuddle buddy!! She was so sweet and was always up for a nap!!
This was Mads laying out in the sunshine one of her final days. She enjoyed it so much.
Maddie also loved laying by the pool.
I love this picture of Mads. She was such a pretty girl.
Maddie loved to lay in the sun. She would lay out in the sun for hours enjoying her time outside.
Maddie would always let us dress her up. Here she is as a pilgrim, with a sombrero, as a pilot, and in her birthday hat.
Maddie loved to go on runs and walks with us. She was always so excited whenever we got her harness out!! I so miss going on our morning walks.
We have so many fun photos of Mads!!
This was Maddie's glam shot!! We laughed so hard!!
Pip and Maddie passed out together, so sweet!!
Pip and Mads cuddling again!!
In the summer, our elephant ears grew to be huge!! Maddie looks tiny compared to that one!!
Another pretty shot of Maddie!
This is one of our all-time favorite pictures of Maddie!! When we were planting our flowers and tomatoes one summer, and Maddie decided to knock one over!! We had such a laugh over this!!!
Our family loved Maddie so much. She was such a meaningful member of our family. Maddie was such a smart dog, she was always affectionate, she was funny, and she truly cared for all of us. Maddie was probably the best dog we have ever had, truly. Maddie is so missed, but getting to have her as our pet was so worth it.
We love you and miss you, Maddie!!

DeleteSo sorry for your loss Abby. Losing a pet feels like losing a family member-- because they ARE family members! It looks like Maddie had such a sweet, happy life. She was clearly so well loved by your family. All of her hats and outfits were cracking me up! If you've never read the children's book Dog Heaven, it's worth a read. It's a sweet look at what our favorite lost pets are doing in heaven.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Lauren. Your comment is so sweet and thoughtful, you made my day. :)
