February 2021 Monthly Musings + Thankful Thursday!!

Hey there!! It's me again! Y'all, I know I said I am back, but I have had a busy, busy week of school and volleyball, so that is why I have not been able to post the past couple of days!! I am very glad that I made it back in time for this month's edition of MONTHLY MUSINGS + some thankfulness!!! I cannot wait, so let's do this thing!!

*Linking up with Holly, Patty, Joanne, and Rebecca Jo

Here are this month's list of musings! Isn't this musings list so cute!

1. What are your spring must have pieces?
I don't have too many must have pieces, just because spring feels like we skipped the actual nice spring weather and went straight to summer!

2. What are your spring break must have accessories?
Normally, our family does not go on a big spring break trip, just because it is tax season and my mom works with taxes! We used to go to Callaway Gardens or go to our beach condo! SO, I would have to say my must have spring break accessory is probably my SUNGLASSES or now my KENDRA SCOTT necklace that I wear ALL. THE. TIME.

3. How do you transition your wardrobe to spring?
I live in Alabama, so my wardrobe does not change too much from winter to spring. I am still typically wearing sweaters in February, but this year it has been so warm! In the mornings it is around the low 40's but by mid-morning, it is all of the way up to 70 degrees! So I guess my answer is, in Alabama, there is no transition, one day you are wearing a sweater, the next day a t-shirt and shorts!!

Y'all, I just checked the weather, and Saturday and Sunday are in the 80's!!!

4. What are your favorite colors to wear in spring?
Umm, probably pink!! Pink is my all time favorite color, and I love to wear pink!! My "dressed up" spring outfit (by dressed up, I mean not a t-shirt and shorts) is jeans and a cute pink top!

5. Any spring fashion advice?
I live in Alabama, so spring is in the 80's, so my "fashion" for spring is a t-shirt and shorts! So, not much fashion advice for spring! :(

6. Do you change up your makeup in spring?
No, not really!! I definitely don't have to put as much bronzer, because my face is tanner, and use a darker colored foundation as well. I feel like I do wear lighter colored eye shadow in spring!
Also, make sure to see my full makeup haul HERE!

7. Do you change up your skincare in spring?
Not really! I do wear more sunscreen, so I do try to cut the amount of greasy skin products on my face!

8. Do you have a favorite spring scent?
I love fresh citrus smells, and I love the smell of roses as well! This one might not be too springy, but I love the smell of the outdoors when it is about to rain or it has so far! I also love the smell of fresh cut grass!

9. Best budget tips for updating your wardrobe?
I don't have any budget tips other than buy the clothes for that season when it is out of season! Last year I got some blouses for spring/summer during fall, and the price was way down!

10. Do you think you will be wearing dresses this spring?
I feel like I may have shared before, but I live in t-shirts, shorts, leggings, and sweaters/sweatshirts! I don't have very many spring dresses, so probably not!

Now on to Thankful Thursday!!

1. Last weekend was our second travel tournament of the season! I have been so thankful for volleyball this season, because 1) I get to have a social outing and 2) I get to play my favorite sport! I was so worried that we might not get to play this season due to COVID-19, but luckily we are! I had the best time at my tournament, and I cannot wait to share it with you all!

2. I have been extremely thankful for this weather!! I live in Alabama, and I might have mentioned it a few times, but we have NO SPRING!! ;) Winter bypasses spring and goes straight to warm, summer weather every year! Yesterday the high was 75, so I did my zoom outside, and then laid out by the pool! It was so nice!

3. The book Greenlights is Ella and I's monthly book club book for this month! I started listening to the audiobook version and I love it so far!! Always thankful for a good book!

4. One last thing I am thankful for, are my sweet and silly pets! I have so enjoyed being around them during this ongoing quarantine! I just don't think I have ever said thank you out loud about it before!

Okay, friends! That is all that I have for you guys today!! I hope you enjoyed this month's edition of monthly musings!! See you tomorrow!!

  1. Yes, Alabama weather drives me crazy!! Thanks for sharing Abby!! I’m so happy you’re back!!

    1. Me too! Aww, thank you, Ella! That means so much to me! 💙

  2. Yes to the sunglasses and the colorful Kendra Scott necklaces- I am all about those too- I get frustrated with New England weather too because we wait FOREVER for it to get warm! Thanks for linking up Abby :)

    1. Thank you!! Alabama is the opposite! I wish it was snowing and cold here! Thank you for hosting, Holly!

  3. Here in Michigan we probably get about a week of Spring. Honestly it goes Winter, pretend spring, more winter, 1 day of spring, then summer. It's awesome that you got to play volleyball still!

    1. Aww, that is funny, because the weather here is the opposite!! During fall we have fake winters then it will be 80 degrees the next day! Yes!! So happy about volleyball!

  4. I am so jealous of your weather. It sounds heavenly. Love the sunglasses and necklace!

  5. So true about the weather changing in the south so much from morning until the afternoon! Have a great day!

  6. I love that necklace! My daughter has a Kendra Scott necklace but it is just a plain color so it matches everything, but yours would do that too!

    1. Thank you! Yes! I love mine! I have a plain teal one, and I love it too!!! Kendra Scott has the prettiest jewelry!

  7. I so love that Kendra Scott necklace. Thanks for linking up with Holly and me.

  8. That Kendra Scott necklace is so pretty! Here in FL it already feels like spring (which I'm not mad about after growing up in the freezing northeast!) so when spring comes it'll feel more like summer <3

  9. I like those sunglasses especially in the spring and the necklace is cute too. We don't have much of a spring here as we go straight into summer weather. Enjoy that beautiful weather. Thanks for the blog visit and enjoy your day.

    1. Thank you! Yes, it is so funny! Thank you! Always happy to!

  10. Love that you were able to lay out by the pool. That is a good day! Pink is my favorite too and that KS necklace is pretty. I’m so glad you are able to play vball this spring.

  11. I want that weather darling! Lol, I hate the cold. Yeah pink is a pretty good color!

  12. FL does the very same, we skip right over spring and bam - it's summer! Pink is my favorite too - so happy you had a great time at your tournament!

    1. Yes! It kind of drives me crazy!! I love pink! Thank you!

  13. Love those pink sunglasses and the necklace!

  14. I love Kendra Scott Necklaces too! Glad you get to play volleyball--my daughter is playing club volleyball too and it is the highlight of our weekends:)

    1. Yay!! That makes me happy!! Which club do yall play at? When is yall’s next tournament!!

Let’s Look - Coffee Area!

Hey there! Happy Wednesday!! I am so excited that it is the first Let’s Look of the year! Today we are taking a look into my coffee area!! Linking up with Shay and Erika !  To be honest, I don't drink coffee on a daily basis! Don't get me wrong, I love coffee, and I would drink it every day, but I just drink tea instead! I love hot tea a tiny bit more than coffee! So yeah, I love coffee, but I don't need it every day. Before we get into it, check out my posts from earlier this week! Monday I shared a Christmas 2020 Recap , and Tuesday I shared my Makeup Haul ! Let’s get into it! This is one coffee maker! We have the Keurig, and the water Hamilton Beach water boiler! We got out Keurig a couple of years ago from Costco, and I fell in love immediately! You can make five different cup sizes, and it makes iced coffee as well!  Since I don't do much of the coffee drinking around my house, here is the coffee that my parents use! As for me, I drink Twining’s English Breakfast

Friday Favorites - 1.19.21 + A Big Surprise!!

Hey friends!! Happy Fri-YAY, the best day of the week!! I hope you have had a wonderful week so far! I feel like this week has gone by SUPER fast! I measure the time of my week by WandaVision episodes, and it seems like I just saw Episode 6!! 😂 Today, like always, I will be sharing my FAVORITES from this week + this week I have a little  BIG surprise for you all to see! I can't wait!! Let's get into it! *Linking up with Erika , Andrea , Shelbee , Nancy My first FAVORITE of the day is also my BIG surprise!!  So as you all know, our sweet pup Maddie passed away a couple of weeks ago. We missed having a dog so much, and it was so hard for all of us. So, we started looking for dogs. We connected with the West Tennessee Border Collie Rescue, and they found a male puppy in Prattville, which is so close to us. At first, we weren't sure if he was available for adoption or even fostering. It turns out he was! On Saturday, Mom picked up him from the shelter, and when I got home from

Friday Favorites - It’s 2021!!

Hey friends!! Happy 2021! I am still amazed that we left 2020 behind, and are now experiencing 2021!! What a year 2020 was, and I am hoping 2021 can be at least a little bit better. Today I am sharing a huge haul of favorites from my Christmas Break, Christmas Eve and Day, New Year’s, and recent thing too!  As usual, I am linking up  with  Erika  and  Andrea , and Shelbee Before I get into this post, I would like to slow down and talk about some of the things happening in America right now. On Wednesday, led by the president, there was an insurrection, people broke into the US Capitol, and people died. This is wrong on so many levels, but this goes even deeper. Back in the Summer, people supporting Black Lives Matter were peacefully protesting and were tear-gassed so that our president could pose for a couple of photos. The people who were rioting outside of the capitol, and eventually some broke in, were not tear-gassed away, and they were breaking into the Capitol. People were shot
