Hey friends!! Happy Monday!! I know that January isn't over, but I am sharing my January Movie Review anyways!! I don't normally watch many movies, much less the amount of movies I watched this month! I had to quarantine towards the beginning of January, so I went on a movie marathon! I hope you enjoy!
Captain America: The First Avenger
I am in love with Captain America. I am NOT joking! He is my favorite of all of the Avengers! This might be my favorite of the three Captain America movies. I just love that it is old-timey, and I love the character development of Steve Rogers.
If you haven't seen it, it is about Steve Rogers in 1941 wanting to join America's armed forces, but he keeps getting turned down because of his small size. Finally, he gets his chance when he is accepted into an experiment that turns him into a supersoldier! Joining a group of comrades, he leads the fight against HYDRA!
Overall, a great movie, super entertaining, and there was the perfect amount of action!
I liked this movie! It had a great storyline, and I never could tell which way the story was going to go! I also found the movie very humorous, which is always good! I also loved that Nick Fury was in there so much and that we got to take a peek inside of SHIELD!
The movie is about Carol Danvers (Vers) who lives on Kree, a planet far away from Earth. She keeps having dreams about a life on Earth, and memories that seem familiar, but she does not remember living them. She finds herself in the middle of an intergalactic war between her people and the Skrulls. She finds her way to Earth, and with the help of Nick Fury, she uncovers the secrets of her past.
I really liked this movie! It was very entertaining, and I just loved it!
This movie is about Tony Stark (Iron Man), conducting weapons tests when he is kidnapped by terrorists, and he is forced to build a terrible, terrible weapon for them. Instead, he builds an armored suit and upends his captors! When he returns to America, and a normal life, he uses his suit to combat crime.
Iron Man 2
I enjoyed this movie, but I honestly didn't feel like it was a necessary component in the MCU universe. I just felt like the movie kept going on, and it just was not the best. It wasn't confusing, but it seemed a bit pointless.
In the movie, the world knows Tony is Iron Man, and he is facing pressure from a lot of people to share his tech with the military, but he does not want to comply. A bad guy recreates his suits, and Tony must divulge in new alliances to confront his new enemy.
Unfortunately, I did not like this movie. It was entertaining, as most movies are, but it just wasn't my favorite.
As son of Odin, Thor will soon inherit the throne of Asgard from his aging father. On the day he was supposed to be crowned king, he reacts violently to an intrusion of their palace. As punishment, Odin banishes him to Earth and strips his hammer from him. His brother Loki is wreaking havoc on Earth, and Thor without his power must stop him.
Great movie!! I thought it was so cool to see all of the heroes come together! It was plenty humorous, and was super entertaining! It had great thematic elements as well!
In the movie, Thor's brother, Loki, gains access to the unlimited power from the Tesseract. To combat him, Nick Fury puts together a team of superheroes.
Iron Man 3
The movie takes place after The Avengers and the attack on New York. Tony Stark is very dependent on his suit that gives him the Iron Man persona. America is being threatened by The Mandarin, and Tony must stop him.
Thor: Dark World
This movie wasn't bad, but it was just a little bland! It was a lot more entertaining than the first Thor movie.
Jane Foster finds an ancient stone that was used by Thor's enemies long ago and somehow becomes its host. Thor must bring her to Asgard to remove it from her, and protect her in the process.
Captain America: Winter Soldier
Great movie!! I loved that this movie was about not only about Captain America, but his new friend, Sam, Bucky, Natasha, and Nick Fury. I was so happy that Bucky was brought back, and I thought the way he was reintroduced was genius!
Captain America has been living in the Nation's capital, and has been trying to adjust to life after the attack on New York. An attack on SHIELD throws Steve into a tough position, and he must join with the Black Widow and his new friend, Sam.
Guardians of The Galaxy
Space adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the quarry of relentless bounty hunters after he steals an orb coveted by a powerful villain. While in jail, he gathers a ragtag group of friends to save the universe.
I thought this movie was fun to watch. I liked the humor, and found myself laughing often. I also enjoyed the soundtrack.
Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 2
I think I liked this movie better than the first! Although, I do think the whole point of this movie was a little dumb. :(
When the Guardians are hired to protect expensive batteries by a race called The Sovereign, and Rocket steals one, they find themselves escaping across the galaxy. Along the way, Peter Quill discovers his true parentage...
Avengers: Age of Ultron
I loved this movie! I thought that it was a lot darker than the first Avengers movie, but equally as good, if not better. The movie was very entertaining, and it kept me on my toes.
Tony Stark has created a peace-keeping program, but it has gone terribly wrong. The Avengers team assembles to battle Ultron, the technological terror who has his mind set on human extinction.
This was a great movie!! It was hilarious! I was laughing the whole entire way through! It was also pretty light while also being an action movie. So good!!!
Scott Lang has just gotten out of jail, when he is recruited by Hank Pym and his daughter, Hope, to steal the suit a former worker of Hank has created that has come deadly close to the original one created. It was very cool, and I just loved all of the shrinking!
Captain America: Civil War
When I first watched this movie, I was very shocked!!
When political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability when the actions of The Avengers lead to much damage, it divides the team. Captain America believes superheroes should remain free to defend humanity without the government, but Tony Stark disagrees and supports oversight.
This movie was kind of a break from the Avengers, and everything that comes with them. It introduces an alternate reality and many things that the audience did not know about the Marvel universe. I personally loved the character development of Doctor Strange. I did not like him at first, but ended up loving him!
I enjoyed this movie, but it wasn't my favorite. I thought that the entire idea and story-line was well thought out, and a great creation, but I was a little confused, and did not really enjoy the way it was executed.
I did think that the suit created was very cool, and I loved the soundtrack. I also really loved seeing all of the cool Wakandan tech in the movie.
So funny!! This movie might be the most entertaining of all of the movies in this series. It truly is funny, and in almost every component made me laugh. The movie was well executed, and I loved meeting all of the new characters. The battle at the end was epic.
Great movie all around!!
Avengers: Infinity War
This movie was crazy. It was epic to see so many of the heroes come together and fight against Thanos. The last part was so sad, and honestly, I cried a lot.
Ant-Man and The Wasp
I liked this movie! It was funny and very entertaining. I thought the parts with Scott Lang's daughter and family were so sweet and cute! The fighting sequences were super cool!!
In this movie, Scott must get back into the Ant-Man suit and fight alongside The Wasp.
Y'all. This movie is amazing!!!!! It is incredibly sad, this was me watching it a couple of nights ago!!
I was DEVASTATED when Tony Stark died. Also WHY, WHY, WHY did Cap have to turn old?
I will say, I did love to see everyone together.
If you haven't seen this movie, go watch it!!
