Friday Favorites - It’s 2021!!

Hey friends!! Happy 2021! I am still amazed that we left 2020 behind, and are now experiencing 2021!! What a year 2020 was, and I am hoping 2021 can be at least a little bit better. Today I am sharing a huge haul of favorites from my Christmas Break, Christmas Eve and Day, New Year’s, and recent thing too!
As usual, I am linking up with Erika and Andrea, and Shelbee
Before I get into this post, I would like to slow down and talk about some of the things happening in America right now. On Wednesday, led by the president, there was an insurrection, people broke into the US Capitol, and people died. This is wrong on so many levels, but this goes even deeper. Back in the Summer, people supporting Black Lives Matter were peacefully protesting and were tear-gassed so that our president could pose for a couple of photos. The people who were rioting outside of the capitol, and eventually some broke in, were not tear-gassed away, and they were breaking into the Capitol. People were shot, and people died. All of this over the ridiculous lies of the president. These people carried Confederate Flags through the halls of the Capitol. All of these things show the issue of racial inequality in America. I could not be silent while this went on. Black people are unfairly treated just because of the color of their skin. The response to protests are a clear example of the way groups are treated in America because of their race.
Thanks for letting me speak my mind, now one more announcement before we get into it! Last night I got a custom domain for my blog, so now my web address for this blog is thatslifeforyablog.com!! I am so excited about this big change to my blog, I will also be working on the format of my blog over the next couple of days so be sure to check that out!!

O N E :
My first FAVORITE is Christmas Eve and Christmas Day! On Christmas Eve my Aunt Sarah, Uncle Malcolm, and Nana came over for a dinner! We had some super yummy food and a great time! I managed to attempt to grab a couple of photos on my phone that were set on timers!
We even got Bear to pose and look at the camera! After everyone left, we all hurried to get ready for bed and we all hit the hay!
Christmas Day I slept in until 7, which is pretty late for Christmas Day! Clara and I hung out in our new jammies and waited to go out into the living room. We opened presents for a while, and then had breakfast!! Such a fun day!

I will be sharing a full Christmas recap next week!

T W O :
One of my Christmas presents was a new Kendra Scott necklace from my sister! It is definitely one of my favorites, and it is so special to me! Thanks so much Clara, I love it! I also LOVE my new Kate Spade purse from my Aunt Tyler!!

T H R E E :
Christmas night, my family and I settled down and watched Soul!! We instantly LOVED it!! It has the sweetest message, fun tunes, humorous parts, and is a great movie who the entire family!! If you haven’t watched it, you need to put it on your list!

F O U R :
The day after Christmas was Clara’s birthday!! She turned EIGHT YEARS OLD!!! We had a mini surprise party with two friends who live in our neighborhood! We also had a super yummy cookie cake, which I enjoyed eating a lot of!! After we said goodbye to Clara’s friends, we went on a walk in the trails in our city! It was a ton of fun!

F I V E :
I recently downloaded the Drink Water app. I enjoy it! It reminds to you drink water, helps you set a goal for the amount of water each day, and tracks it all! It is so helpful, and I love using it every day!
I also downloaded the Sleep Booster app. It is super helpful in helping me fall asleep, tracking how long I slept, and telling me if I need to get to bed early to catch up on sleep!

S I X :
To celebrate the New Year, I celebrated with Ella at her lake house!! We had the BEST time!!
We left Wednesday afternoon, and the fun began! We had so much fun in the car jamming out and taking selfies with Ollie! Once we got there we hung out, and got ready to go take pictures!

After a yummy dinner, we hung out and then headed for bed.
Thursday morning Ella and I had breakfast and we got ready for the day!! We mostly hung out around the house reading, talking, and enjoying each other’s company! Around 3 we started getting ready for the big night!!
Once we were all ready, we went downstairs to sit around the fire and eat a shrimp cocktail! After a little while, we busted out the sparklers!

After the sparklers, we headed inside for a serious jam session, and to eat dinner! We mostly sat around and watched the countdown in Times Square! We all got tired around 10, so we decided to get into our jammies to count down the clock instead!! This was us when the clock hit midnight!

New Year’s Day I packed up my stuff, and headed home! At home, I napped a lot, watched Auburn lose the bowl game :(, and ate our annual New Year’s Day meal of cornbread, collard greens, and black eyed peas! So much fun!

S E V E N :
I was exposed to a positive COVID-19 case recently, and have been in quarantine for the past week or so. Since I was the only one exposed in my household, I have to quarantine in my room by myself. I have been pretty bored, especially the first couple of days. So, I decided to do a Marvel movie marathon!! I have watched 11 of 23 movies so far! One day I watched four movies! ;) Some of them I am watching for the first time, and I think I may have some new favorites! All of that will be shared in my movie review for the month!

Friends, that is all that I have for you today!! I hope you enjoyed reading this post! I will see you all back here on Monday!!

  3. It sounds like you've had a lot of fun lately! Your Kate Spade bag is pretty! What a nice gift! I need to buy a new Kate Spade bag as mine is old and showing signs of wear. But it lasted a long time which is nice! And I haven't watched Soul yet, but I'm glad to hear it was good!

  4. Ugh; quarantining was hard enough when it was all of us! I can't imaging how boring it's been to quarantine by yourself. I have watched most of the Marvel movies but didn't realize there were quite that many of them!

Let’s Look - Coffee Area!

Hey there! Happy Wednesday!! I am so excited that it is the first Let’s Look of the year! Today we are taking a look into my coffee area!! Linking up with Shay and Erika !  To be honest, I don't drink coffee on a daily basis! Don't get me wrong, I love coffee, and I would drink it every day, but I just drink tea instead! I love hot tea a tiny bit more than coffee! So yeah, I love coffee, but I don't need it every day. Before we get into it, check out my posts from earlier this week! Monday I shared a Christmas 2020 Recap , and Tuesday I shared my Makeup Haul ! Let’s get into it! This is one coffee maker! We have the Keurig, and the water Hamilton Beach water boiler! We got out Keurig a couple of years ago from Costco, and I fell in love immediately! You can make five different cup sizes, and it makes iced coffee as well!  Since I don't do much of the coffee drinking around my house, here is the coffee that my parents use! As for me, I drink Twining’s English Breakfast

Friday Favorites - 1.19.21 + A Big Surprise!!

Hey friends!! Happy Fri-YAY, the best day of the week!! I hope you have had a wonderful week so far! I feel like this week has gone by SUPER fast! I measure the time of my week by WandaVision episodes, and it seems like I just saw Episode 6!! 😂 Today, like always, I will be sharing my FAVORITES from this week + this week I have a little  BIG surprise for you all to see! I can't wait!! Let's get into it! *Linking up with Erika , Andrea , Shelbee , Nancy My first FAVORITE of the day is also my BIG surprise!!  So as you all know, our sweet pup Maddie passed away a couple of weeks ago. We missed having a dog so much, and it was so hard for all of us. So, we started looking for dogs. We connected with the West Tennessee Border Collie Rescue, and they found a male puppy in Prattville, which is so close to us. At first, we weren't sure if he was available for adoption or even fostering. It turns out he was! On Saturday, Mom picked up him from the shelter, and when I got home from
