Christmas Family Traditions

Hey there friends!! Happy, happy Wednesday!! There are two days until Christmas!! I can’t believe it! Today I am sharing a couple of my family’s Christmas traditions.
For today’s post, I am linking up with Lindsay for Wednesday Chat, and Penny for Wonderful Wednesday!

O N E :
During the Iron Bowl weekend, we get a tree and decorate it! Sometimes we will get a tree a little earlier than that weekend, just so it can be prepared, then we decorate it while watching the game! It is so much fun to do, and it's so funny when we come across an Auburn ornament. We have quite a few Auburn beating Bama ornaments! This is the only picture I have of me by our Christmas tree!

T W O :
Each Christmas, we will make some sort of baked goodies for our neighbors, family, and friends. Sometimes we will make an assortment of cookies, one year we made these really yummy cream cheese brownies, cheerio grabbers, and this year coffee cakes and banana breads! We love giving out gifts like these because we just love making them!

T H R E E :
On Christmas Eve we will normally have a fancy dinner with our family. Most of our family lives in Auburn, so we go up there and have an early Christmas dinner. We have such a fun, fun time seeing each other and eating super yummy food!!

F O U R :
During the night before Christmas (not the poem), Santa comes and brings Clara and I new Christmas pajamas! This is such a fun tradition, and we love getting to get new pajamas! I can't wait to see what the Christmas jammies I am getting this year look like!

F I  V E :
We only open Christmas presents on Christmas morning. My family has never really opened one present on Christmas Eve, and we love to open everything in the morning!

S I X :
On Christmas morning, Clara and I have to wait in our rooms to go out into the living room. Around 6 or 7 Mom and Dad will come and check if we are awake (we always are), and then we wait a little while until all of the presents are arranged, and then Clara and I walk out to see everything! This is so much fun! Clara and I are always up around 5:30 on Christmas morning, so we normally hang out and guess what might be under the tree! This was Clara and I walking out of our hallway with our new Christmas pajamas!

S E V E N :
Once Clara and I have gone into the living room, we always open our stockings first!! I love all of the stocking stuffers Clara and I get!

E I G H T :
We always open our gifts one at a time. I love opening each gift one at a time, because then we get to enjoy seeing the other person unwrapping their gift! I just can't wait for everyone to open their gifts!

N I N E :
After we have opened all of our presents, we will have a late breakfast! One of our favorite breakfasts to make on Christmas morning is THIS easy three ingredient casserole! So yummy!

Well, friends, that is all that I have for you today! I can't believe that Christmas is just two sleeps away! I hope you all have a wonderful day! See you back here tomorrow!

  1. My boys all wait upstairs (usually in our room with us) until everyone is awake then we go downstairs together and we open stockings first too. We try to have one person open at a time but sometimes there is a little overlap. Then we have a late breakfast with my husband's family and we take turns hosting brunch; this year is our year to host. We're trying to make homemade croissants.

  2. How fun!! We do it very similar to you...we have to stay in our rooms until 6, and then we can come down!! We open our “santa”gift and stocking stuffers first, and then my grandparents come over!! My mom always makes breakfast casserole, and we eat it while all of my family opens their gifts!! Later that day, we’ll have a big Christmas lunch!!

Let’s Look - Coffee Area!

Hey there! Happy Wednesday!! I am so excited that it is the first Let’s Look of the year! Today we are taking a look into my coffee area!! Linking up with Shay and Erika !  To be honest, I don't drink coffee on a daily basis! Don't get me wrong, I love coffee, and I would drink it every day, but I just drink tea instead! I love hot tea a tiny bit more than coffee! So yeah, I love coffee, but I don't need it every day. Before we get into it, check out my posts from earlier this week! Monday I shared a Christmas 2020 Recap , and Tuesday I shared my Makeup Haul ! Let’s get into it! This is one coffee maker! We have the Keurig, and the water Hamilton Beach water boiler! We got out Keurig a couple of years ago from Costco, and I fell in love immediately! You can make five different cup sizes, and it makes iced coffee as well!  Since I don't do much of the coffee drinking around my house, here is the coffee that my parents use! As for me, I drink Twining’s English Breakfast

Friday Favorites - 1.19.21 + A Big Surprise!!

Hey friends!! Happy Fri-YAY, the best day of the week!! I hope you have had a wonderful week so far! I feel like this week has gone by SUPER fast! I measure the time of my week by WandaVision episodes, and it seems like I just saw Episode 6!! 😂 Today, like always, I will be sharing my FAVORITES from this week + this week I have a little  BIG surprise for you all to see! I can't wait!! Let's get into it! *Linking up with Erika , Andrea , Shelbee , Nancy My first FAVORITE of the day is also my BIG surprise!!  So as you all know, our sweet pup Maddie passed away a couple of weeks ago. We missed having a dog so much, and it was so hard for all of us. So, we started looking for dogs. We connected with the West Tennessee Border Collie Rescue, and they found a male puppy in Prattville, which is so close to us. At first, we weren't sure if he was available for adoption or even fostering. It turns out he was! On Saturday, Mom picked up him from the shelter, and when I got home from

Friday Favorites - It’s 2021!!

Hey friends!! Happy 2021! I am still amazed that we left 2020 behind, and are now experiencing 2021!! What a year 2020 was, and I am hoping 2021 can be at least a little bit better. Today I am sharing a huge haul of favorites from my Christmas Break, Christmas Eve and Day, New Year’s, and recent thing too!  As usual, I am linking up  with  Erika  and  Andrea , and Shelbee Before I get into this post, I would like to slow down and talk about some of the things happening in America right now. On Wednesday, led by the president, there was an insurrection, people broke into the US Capitol, and people died. This is wrong on so many levels, but this goes even deeper. Back in the Summer, people supporting Black Lives Matter were peacefully protesting and were tear-gassed so that our president could pose for a couple of photos. The people who were rioting outside of the capitol, and eventually some broke in, were not tear-gassed away, and they were breaking into the Capitol. People were shot
