Hello, and Happy Friday!!! Welcome back to That's life For Ya Blog!! I am officially back *cue the music*!!! I have been loving this summer and not wanting it to stop, and I just kind of stopped blogging!! Anyways, I have so much to share, and I promise I won't leave with out notice again! But for now, I am back for good!!
Anyways, I was planning on having my first blog post back on Monday the 27th, but as I was working on the post for Monday I realized I might have enough time to write one for today! What better way to come back than linking up with two of my all time favorite bloggers, Erika and Andrea!! Anyways, here are my favorites from basically, the past month or so!!
You may not have known this, but I actually was able to go to the beach at the very end of June!! I had so so much fun, and it was such a great way to get out of the house! We left the house Sunday ad stayed at our condo until Thursday! During our stay, we mostly stayed out on the beach with our family friends who we hadn't seen in two years!! I was so happy to see one of my all time besties Anna! Our families actually met at Orange Beach about three or four years ago and we normally meet up at the beach once a year! I am so thankful for this sweet sweet friend!! Unfortunately, I did not take but one picture of us a the beach! Let me explain, we went to the beach about a week after I had a gotten my first phone, and I barely took it out at the beach for fear I was going to drop it! I am at least glad we got one picture!
I just realized, I do have another picture of me at the beach!!
Yep! You guessed it! I got sunburnt. :(
It happens almost every time I go to the beach, even though I reapply every thirty minutes in lotion and in spray sun screen! And yes, it hurts as bad as it looks! Side Note: If you like putting on lotion sun screen prior to spray sun screen, there is this really great light weight sun screen that I use every day! You can find it HERE!
My First Phone!
Yes! I finally got a phone! I have been wanting a phone for forever, and I finally got one! It is an iPhone SE! I love it!
Since it is summer, our marching band has to learn our music and learn our drill! Once a week, just the drum line would meet up to learn our music, and for our auditions for drum placements! I think I might have mentioned it earlier about drum line auditions, and I got bass drum, the drum that I wanted!!
All of this actually happened in June, and this whole week (July 20-24) was the first week of band camp. The first week of band camp is just the drum line, color guard, and majorettes! The next two weeks from four in the after noon to seven thirty at night we have band camp but with half of the band, for safety precautions regarding corona. I am so glad that I have been able to see the drum line even if we are always wearing masks and are six feet if not more apart! I am so excited for our show this year! It is Rock n' Roll theme and we are playing some great old songs! During this week we have been working super hard on learning our music, and learning marching! The battery actually has the first two songs completely memorized! Overall, I think this year's show is going to be great! Also, I will be sure to take a picture of the battery today at band camp so I can show y'all on Monday!
Volleyball!I was so so very excited to be able to get back to my favorite sport in the world, volleyball! My travel season ended early leaving us missing two tournaments, and we were supposed to have practice a couple months after that, but it just didn't work out. :( I just wanted to say to Coach Wilma, Coach Kennedy, and all ten other girls on the team, thank you for such a great season, I had so much fun!! I love these girls so so much and I am so very grateful to have each and every one of them in my life!
But even though travel got cancelled, school volleyball started back a couple of weeks ago! We have been having open gyms for anyone to help people practice before try-outs which are on Tuesday the 28th! I have loved getting to see all of my school friends and playing volleyball! The one down side of it all, is that wearing a mask while practicing volleyball can be a bit uncomfortable. But on the bright side, I am so glad that the school is taking so many precautions like checking all temperatures of people entering the school, requiring everyone to wear a mask at all times, and requiring everyone to remain six feet away! I am so excited for the try outs next week, luckily the results are being posted two hours after the try outs so nobody has to wait! I will let you know on Wednesday the results!!
Getting To See Kate!
A couple weeks ago *I think*, I was able to go and see Kate! I am so glad that I got to see one of my best friends! We had the best time eating Chick-Fil-A, making the best homemade ice cream, talking, and running around her neighborhood while on the phone with laser tag guns! Yep, that's right! We played laser tag with each other outside probably looking like crazy people! Trust me, a lot of people looked at us like we were crazy! We would go in different directions, and then try and find the other person and while that seems like it wouldn't take a while, it sure did! I had the best time and I am so grateful I was able to see you!!
June & July Book Review!
Because I did not post a June book review, I am combing those with this month's books! I am super excited, and I read a LOT of great books so be prepared! I will go ahead and mention that I have read the first three The Selection series books, and they are amazing! The One had to have been my favorite! It was so sweet and I recommend this series to anyone who loves fairy tale like love stories!
I am trying to think of anything else some what exciting that has happened in the past month or so, but I am drawing a blank! But I do have to say one of my biggest favorites is my sweet sweet kitten Pip!!
PS: I am super excited for the new Taylor Swift album that was just recently released!!!!
